Program Overview
Shandong University, Weihai, Winter Vacation Chinese Language and Culture Study Program includes two parts: Chinese language courses and traditional Chinese culture experience, with a duration of 4 weeks. This study program will rapidly and effectively enhance your Chinese competence, particularly in listening and speaking. It also offers opportunities to experience the profound traditional Chinese culture, thereby deepening your understanding of the Chinese language and its cultural roots.
Upon successful completion, students will be awarded the Certificate of Completion.
Duration of the program: 4 weeks.
Target students: Chinese for zero-base to intermediate level students. Students with a high level of Chinese language proficiency are not suitable for this program.

v Quality resources and prestigious campus life
While studying at Shandong University, Weihai, students can enjoy a comfortable and convenient campus living environment and experience the atmosphere of studying and living as a student in China. The university is close to the Weihai International Bathing Beach, with a coastline of more than 2,800 meters and a beach area of 300,000 square meters, with soft sand and clear sea water.
v Small-size Class to maintain a high teaching quality
The Chinese language program adopts a small-group training program that seeks to maximize students’ learning gains. The course elements are diverse, combining intensive reading courses, speaking courses, cultural appreciation and art experiences to improve language skills in multiple dimensions and strengthen learning outcomes.
v Diversified Curriculum
Chinese courses at different levels, Chinese Traditional Culture Experience courses and Chinese Profile courses are offered. Cultural experience programs such as Chinese martial arts (taijiquan), Chinese food preparation, paper-cutting, calligraphy, tea culture, sightseeing in Weihai City, etc. Please note that the exact activity schedule may be adjusted according to the actual situation.
How to Apply
v Application Requirements:
·Applications are accepted from both individuals and groups.
·The program will commence if there are 10 or more participants; it will not be held if the number of participants is less than 10.
v Eligibility Criteria:
·Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens.
·Applicants must be under the age of 60 and in good physical and mental health.
·Students under 18 years old must have a guardian residing in China.
v Application Materials:
·A scan copy of your passport;
·A digital photo (photo requirements: color standard ID photo, size not exceeding 200kb, pixel larger than 295*413. Photos must be in JPG, JPEG and PNG formats);
·Guardian Consent Form (applicable for students under 18 years old);

v Application Results:
·The application review process is expected to take approximately 7 working days. The outcome will be sent to the email address provided in the application system. Students who pass the review will also receive a payment notification.
·Students who successfully make the payment will be provided with the student visa application materials.
·If the review process exceeds 7 working days, we will send a follow-up notification via email.
Fees and Payment
v Fees
1. Tuition fee: 800 RMB per week per person. Note: Non-refundable after the payment is made.
2. Accommodation fee: 60 RMB per bed per day for a standard room. (Off-campus nearby hotels, including breakfast；After check-in, the fees will be settled directly with the hotel.)
3. Meal expenses: Approximately 60 RMB per day (students are responsible for their own meals; no centralized meal arrangements will be made).

Precautions
All program participants (teachers and students) must purchase their own insurance policy before entering China, which covers the entire program period. You will be required to present a valid insurance policy as proof at registration.
Airport Pick-up and Drop-off Service Announcement: The college will provide designated airport transfer services at Weihai Airport on December 29, 2025 and January 24, 2026. Kindly inform us of your flight details one week in advance to facilitate the arrangement of these services. For travel outside these dates, please make your own transportation arrangements.
